Oildale, California – Motorcyclist Killed After Brutal Two-Vehicle Crash
Oildale, California (June 25, 2018) – Local Bakersfield news reported that a man was killed in an unfortunate two-vehicle crash between a motorcycle and a vehicle on Friday, June 22, 2018. As per the report, the incident occurred at an unidentified location at an unknown time. Authorities have identified the deceased victim as 56-year old James Morse, who was instantly killed when the larger vehicle struck his bike. Likewise, police have not disclosed information concerning the motorist.
Reports indicated that Morse was riding his Harley Davidson along the as-of-yet-unidentified road, while the motorist was driving a Lexus. At some point, for unknown reasons, the Lexus driver swerved directly into the path of the motorcycle, causing the unfortunate accident. As a result, James Morse sustained fatal injuries and died at the scene. Police did not disclose if the driver sustained injuries from the impact or whether the individual remained at the scene to cooperate with law enforcement officers.
The California Highway Patrol has assumed full responsibility for the case and is currently looking into possible causes for this tragic accident. As evidence continues to surface, more information will be released to the public.
Bakersfield Wrongful Death Attorney
As per the report, it appears that the driver will be held solely responsible for causing the crash and, ultimately, the death of James Morse. This decision will be reinforced by the fact that police discovered the motorist had been consuming alcohol prior to driving. Nevertheless, law enforcement will investigate if additional factors like speeding and negligence played a role here.
If authorities take this course of action, the family of the motorcyclist will have legal rights to file a wrongful death lawsuit against the guilty party. By seeking legal assistance, these individuals can receive compensation for a variety of issues including excessive medical bills or tragic loss.
