The impact of the collision pushed the police car down an embankment.

Vehicle Accidents in California
One of the reasons drivers lose control of their vehicles is because of mechanical failure. The most common cause of mechanical failure is a damaged tire, which accounts for 35 percent of all accidents that occur as a result of mechanical failure. Tires can be damaged by running over sharp objects on the highway, or by driving over large potholes and cracked roads. There are even some instances where tire companies may accidentally sell damaged tires to drivers.
The police are currently investigating to determine if mechanical failure played a role in the reason why the 24-year-old driver lost control and struck the patrol vehicle. They’re also evaluating road conditions, weather conditions, and the state of mind of the driver. Once they conclude their findings, the injured officer may be able to file a personal injury lawsuit with the help of a California personal injury attorney.
