Orange County, CA – Fatal Plane Accident on Canyon Drive

Orange County, CA (February 4, 2019) – Several people were killed and others injured in a fatal plane accident that took place on Canyon Drive in Yorba Linda on Sunday, February 3. The incident took place around 2:00 p.m. in the 19000 block of Canyon Drive.

A twin-engine Cessna crashed after it took off from the Fullerton Municipal Airport for reasons that are not yet known. The crash took place by someone else’s home and ignited it on fire. Debris was scattered all over the street and in people’s yards.

The male pilot and four people inside the house that the plane crashed into died at the scene. Two males and two females lived inside the home.

Two people were injured and taken to the hospital with serious burn injuries. A firefighter was also treated for a variety of minor injuries. The names of those involved have not yet been identified.

The FAA and NTSB are investigating the crash at this time.
