Orcutt, CA – Colin James Murray Charged for DUI Accident on East Union Valley Parkway
Orcutt, CA (February 27, 2019) – On the evening of February 25th, a DUI accident happened at the intersection of East Union Valley Parkway and Orcutt Road around 6:40 p.m.
According to the reports, a 28-year-old man named Colin James Murray was driving his Pontiac south on Orcutt Road and a 28-year-old driver named Amy Alison Ruth was driving her 2014 Toyota west on the same street. Ruth turned left on a green light, which caused Murray to steer his vehicle onto the sidewalk and crash into a signal pole. Murray’s vehicle then overturned and collided into Ruth’s vehicle, and then struck a second traffic signal pole. His car finally ended up toppling over a drainage canal.
When emergency crews arrived, they had to extricate Murray from his vehicle and rushed him to a nearby hospital due to a liver laceration and brain bleeding. They also evaluated Ruth for any injuries that resulted from the crash.
The police are charging Murray for driving under the influence, even though the accident is still being investigated.
