Orcutt, CA – Fatal Truck Accident on Highway 135 in Orcutt
Orcutt, CA (February 8, 2019) – 60-year-old Rickie Motley and his passenger, identified as 24-year-old Jesse Donald Gluyas, were both killed in a fatal truck accident on Highway 135.
The multi-vehicle accident took place around 6:30 a.m. on Thursday between a truck and five other vehicles. Unfortunately, when paramedics arrived at the scene of the accident, they found that Motley and Gluyas were already deceased.
Paramedics assisted nine people from other vehicles who suffered from a variety of injuries. Luckily, nobody had to be hospitalized. The injured ranged from 20-51 years old.
The driver of the truck involved had taken drugs and consumed alcohol before he drove on the highway and crashed into the five other vehicles at a red traffic light. The truck driver was injured and taken to the hospital, where he was later arrested for DUI.
Police are conducting an investigation into the accident at this time.
