Orinda, CA – Several Cars and Big Rig Collide on Highway 24
Orinda, CA (August 18, 2018) – Police were on the scene of a crash between several cars and a big rig in Orinda on Friday. At 8:30 am, officers received reports of the crash which took place on Highway 24 near the Caldecott Tunnel. When they arrived, police discovered a total of seven vehicles involved, six cars and the big rig. One of the cars was crushed by the impact.
An ambulance responded to the crash scene to treat victims. There is no known word on the extent of any injuries suffered in the crash, however, at least one person was tended to at the scene by paramedics. The force of the crash caused the big rig to jackknife in the roadway.
Both the left and center lanes of the Highway 24 were shut down while police investigated the crash. Authorities have not released any information regarding who caused the accident or the sequence of events leading up to the crash.
