Orinda, CA – Three People Injured after Suspected DUI Accident along Bear Creek Road near San Pablo Dam Road

Orinda, CA (August 21, 2018) – A local news source reported that three victims suffered injuries as the result of a suspected DUI accident that took place along Bear Creek Road, in the vicinity of San Pablo Dam Road. The collision occurred at approximately 3:22 PM in the afternoon on Sunday, August 19, 2018. At this time, no detailed information concerning the people involved in the crash has been revealed.

Based on the report from the California Highway Patrol, a black BMW, driven by a 33-year old man from Martinez, was traveling down Bear Creek Road. At some point, for indeterminate reasons, he swerved into the path of an oncoming Toyota Prius.

Authorities later reported a 30-year old woman, who had been riding as a passenger in the Prius, sustained severe injuries during the impact. Later, she was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Meanwhile, another occupant of the Prius was moderately injured.

Officials confirmed the 33-year old Martinez man suffered non-life threatening injuries, as well. Authorities believe the man had consumed alcohol prior to operating his vehicle at dangerous speeds. No details about potential charges were immediately disclosed.
