Oroville, CA – Crystall Smith Seriously Injured in Crash on Highway 70

Oroville, CA (January 23, 2019) – Police say that a passenger, identified as 18-year-old Crystall Smith, was seriously injured after an accident that caused the death of another party.

At the time of the accident, the California Highway Patrol reported that a white car was speeding north on Highway 70 when it entered into a curve on the highway and spun out of control. From there, it struck a southbound car. The northbound vehicle was allegedly traveling in excess of 90 mph before the accident.

Two occupants in the victim car were taken to the hospital in critical condition. Smith had been a passenger in the speeding vehicle and was hospitalized with both a broken leg and arm. One person was also killed in the crash.

At this time, the crash remains under investigation.
