Otay Mesa, CA- Two People Hurt in Wrong-Way Crash on 805 Fwy

Otay Mesa, CA (June 21, 2019)- One person suffered major injuries, while another sustained minor injuries, in a crash on the 805 Freeway Thursday at approximately 5:10 pm.

The California Highway Patrol stated that the crash near Palm Avenue took place when a red sedan traveling north in the southbound lanes hit a Jeep. When emergency personnel arrived at the crash site, they found the sedan driver trapped in the damaged vehicle. She was extricated from the vehicle and transported to a local hospital for treatment of major injuries.

The Jeep driver sustained minor injuries in the crash.

Authorities are investigating the cause of the crash, including whether drugs or alcohol were a factor.
