Palm Springs, California – Multi-Vehicle Accident Involving Police Car near Indian Canyon Drive and Racquet Club Road Leaves Several Injured
Palm Springs, California (July 2, 2018) – Local news sources reported that a collision involving three civilian vehicles and a police car took place in the vicinity of Indian Canyon Drive and Racquet Club Road. The incident occurred at some time in the morning on Monday, July 2, 2018. As per the reports, a woman was driving a 2010 Chevrolet Cobalt southbound on Indian Canyon Drive. At some point, for an indeterminate reason, she did not stop at a red light and drove into oncoming traffic. As a result, the Chevrolet collided with a 2017 Ford Explorer police cruiser and a 2006 Honda Civic, operated by another woman. Both the Ford and Honda had been traveling parallel in eastbound lanes.
Authorities disclosed that the Honda received the majority of damage from the accident and sped towards the southeast section of Indian Canyon and Racquet Club. Eventually, the vehicle crashed into a traffic signal. Afterward, medical personnel transported the Honda driver to a local hospital, where the victim received treatment for non-life threatening injuries.
Meanwhile, officials revealed a Palm Springs officer had been driving the Ford. Later, the officer was also hospitalized to receive treatment for non-life threatening injuries.
At the same time, the female Cobalt driver was also transported to a hospital.
As of now, the investigation is ongoing.
