Palmdale, CA – Pedestrian dies after Suspected Hit-and-Run Accident on Southbound Sierra Highway

Palmdale, CA (July 22, 2018) – Los Angeles local news sources reported that a pedestrian died as the result of a suspected hit-and-run collision that took place on the southbound lanes of the Sierra Highway. The incident happened at approximately 11:45 PM in the late hours at night on Friday, July 20, 2018. Recently, officials have identified the deceased victim as 40-year old Tammi Johnson, a resident of Acton. No information about the hit-and-run suspect or the second driver involved in the crash has been revealed at this time.

Based on a report from the California Highway Patrol, Ms. Johnson was walking along the Sierra Highway in the vicinity of Vincent View Road when, without warning, a vehicle slammed into her. Reports indicate that a second vehicle, a 2006 Volvo S40, also plowed into Ms. Johnson afterward. Officials sadly confirmed that the victim possibly died during the first impact.

CHP has potentially identified the vehicle as a Lexus NX SUV, possibly silver in color, which received severe damage including a destroyed side mirror and a cracked windshield during the collision.
