Perris, CA – Raul Otiz Identified as Victim of Fatal Bicycle Accident on Ramona Expressway
Perris, CA (July 14, 2018) – A bicyclist who died from the results of an accident with a motor vehicle Friday on the Ramona Expressway has been identified as Raul Sangerman Otiz, according to a local news source. The Riverside County Coroner’s office stated that Otiz died shortly after the accident that took place at the intersection of Ramona Expressway and Perris Boulevard. The crash was reported at approximately 5:30 a.m.
The report stated that the crash occurred when Otiz was riding his bicycle on Ramona Expressway and was sadly struck by a vehicle. The cyclist rode his bike across the northbound lanes when he was fatally hit by the vehicle that was driving north on Perris Boulevard. Otiz was tragically pronounced dead at a local hospital.
Officials reportedly added that the driver of the vehicle that struck Otiz did in fact stop and cooperated with authorities. Whether or not that motorist suffered any injuries in the crash has not been stated. There is an investigation currently ongoing into the cause of the crash.
