Phelan, CA – One Killed and Five Injured in Head-on Collision on Phelan Road and Mango Street

Phelan, CA (September 2, 2018) – One person was reported to have died and five others were injured after a head-on collision that took place on Phelan Road on Saturday afternoon, September 1, according to a local and trustworthy news source in Phelan. The fatal crash that transpired a little west of Mango Street was reported to have occurred at approximately 12:34 p.m.

According to the California Highway Patrol, a Chevrolet S10 pickup truck was traveling west on Phelan Road while a 2018 Mercedes Benz GLC was traveling eastbound on the same road. For reasons that are currently unknown, the SUV and the pickup proceeded to collide head-on. Both vehicles suffered serious damage as a result of the collision.

Paramedics along with officials from the San Bernardino County Fire Department immediately arrived on the scene to assist the victims. The female driver of the pickup truck was sadly pronounced dead at the scene while a male passenger in that vehicle suffered minor injuries. The California Highway Patrol confirmed that a female occupant in the SUV had to be airlifted to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center with serious injuries.

Three other individuals who were involved in the wreck were reported to have sustained rather minor injuries. One of those three victims was taken to Arrowhead Regional via ambulance as the other two did not require hospitalization for their wounds. No further information has been made available and no names have been released. Authorities are currently investigating the events that led to this incident.
