Phelan, CA – Three People Involved in a Deadly Accident along Eastbound State Route 18 near Wilson Ranch Road

Phelan, CA (July 23, 2018) – Local news sources reported that a deadly accident involving three people took place along the eastbound lanes on State Route 18 (Palmdale Road) in the vicinity of Wilson Ranch Road. Authorities logged in the incident at approximately 10:04 PM at night on Saturday, July 21, 2018. At this time, no detailed information concerning the identities of the deceased and living victims involved in the crash has been released.

According to a report from the California Highway Patrol, a 2004 Lexus was traveling down State Route 18 when, for indeterminate reasons, the vehicle swerved towards the right shoulder and careened into opposing traffic. As a result, the Lexus slammed into a blue Hyundai Elantra heading westbound down 18. Within seconds, the Lexus made a 180-degree turn and was clipped by a 2018 black F150.

Afterward, rescue teams were dispatched to the crash site and rendered aid to the victims. Medical personnel confirmed an occupant from the Lexus and a second occupant from the Elantra had died at the crash site. Paramedics transported the three F150 occupants to nearby hospitals for treatment of injuries. The current physical conditions of the surviving victims have not been disclosed.

As part of the initial investigation, law enforcement officials blocked off State Route 18 near Johnson and Monte Vista Roads.

Presently, the Victorville California Highway Patrol has assumed authority over the ongoing investigation.
