Placerville, CA – Gabriella Briceno Killed in Fatal Crash on Highway 49

Placerville, CA (February 28, 2019) – Police say that a teen in Placerville was among one of two people who lost their lives in a tragic and fatal crash that happened on Tuesday morning. Police arrived at the scene of the accident initially around 6:05 a.m.

The collision, according to police, took place at the intersection of Highway 49 and Pleasant Valley Road. At the time, 18-year-old Gabriella Briceno had been driving a Toyota Camry southbound on Highway 49 when she crossed over into the northbound lanes of the roadway. She then struck a Toyota Avalon, which, in turn, involved a Civic in the accident as well.

Briceno and her male passenger received grave injuries. Both were pronounced deceased at the scene of the accident.

The cause of the collision is still being investigated at this time.
