Placerville, CA – Fatality Accident on US-50 Near Camino Heights Dr. Exit

Placerville, CA (January 16, 2019) – Yesterday evening around 6:28 p.m., the California Highway Patrol was called to the scene of a fatal accident that took place on Highway 50. Police say that three or more vehicles collided with one another at the time of the incident.

The accident occurred on the section of the highway near the Camino Heights Drive exit on Hwy 50. At least three vehicles, possibly more, were involved in a violent collision that sadly claimed the life of one of the vehicle’s occupants.

Firefighters and other emergency responders arrived at the scene of the multi-vehicle accident and stated that they had to provide CPR to at least one injured victim at the scene. Their condition is not known at this time. It was also confirmed that one person tragically passed away at the scene of the accident. Their name has not been disclosed due to the fact that the next-of-kin are still being notified.

At least two eastbound lanes of the highway were closed down so that the investigation into the accident could continue. Police are currently investigating how the accident transpired.
