Placerville, CA – Three People Killed in Fatal Accident on Highway 50

Placerville, CA (January 18, 2019) – On Tuesday, January 15, three people lost their lives in a fatal accident on Highway 50. They have since been identified as two adults and a child.

An investigation revealed that 51-year-old Javier Urenda was traveling westbound in a Volvo near Camino Heights Drive when he lost control and spun out into the eastbound lanes of the highway where he crashed into a Subaru.

Responding teams found Javier unconscious at the scene of the accident. 24-year-old Nancy Jimenez, Cielo Urenda, and a 1-year-old were killed in the accident. The 1-year-old was first transported to the hospital and died due to their injuries.

One other person, whose name has not yet been released, was flown to the hospital for a variety of different injuries. At this time, police continue to work to determine liability in the deadly accident.
