Police Cruiser & 2 Cars Involved in Crash on Imperial Highway

La Habra, California (June 22, 2018) – Multiple vehicles were involved in an accident occurring early Friday morning on Imperial Highway. The crash came as an end to a police pursuit, according to the La Habra Police Department.

The crash occurred at approximately 12:25 a.m. and the chase began shortly earlier that morning. Earlier, on-duty Deputy had been conducting a routine traffic stop when the driver sped off without warning. the deputy proceeded to follow the vehicle, using their lights and sirens to warn other drivers of the oncoming pursuit. Despite this precaution, the patrol car proceeded to collide with an unidentified vehicle near Idaho Street. This initial collision to then causes the two vehicles to collide with a third.

As a result of the collision, both the police officer and another motorist suffered minor injuries. Upon arrival at the scene, paramedics administered care to those injured but initial reports do not indicate if they were hospitalized.

At the time of posting, it is unclear if the vehicle initially pursued was a part of the accident, but no arrests were declared in the report.

The names of those involved in the accident have not yet been released.

The California Highway Patrol has been requested by the La Habra Police Department to further investigate the collision.
