Police Patrol Car and Civilian Vehicles Collide on Imperial Highway in La Habra

La Habra, California (June 22, 2018) – The La Habra Police Department reported a multi-vehicle collision between a La Habra Police patrol car and two other vehicles occurred on Imperial Highway near Idaho Street. The incident took place at approximately 12:25 AM on the morning of Friday, June 22, 2018. La Habra Police have not revealed the identities of the officer and civilian drivers to the public.

As per the police report, the La Habra Police deputy was controlling a traffic stop when. Without warning, one driver failed to stop and continued driving down the highway. Almost immediately, the deputy activated the police car’s lights and sirens and gave chase, following the culprit into the westbound lanes of traffic. At the meeting with Idaho Street, the patrol car slammed into an oncoming vehicle before slamming into a third.

Paramedics arrived on the scene and administered treatment to the victims. Reports revealed that the officer and one motorist sustained non-life threatening injuries in the crash. The physical conditions of any other motorists involved have not yet been revealed. Also, sources have not stated if the officer and motorist were hospitalized and received further treatment.

La Habra Police Department officials requested that the California Highway Patrol should maintain control of the investigation for the time being. As more evidence is uncovered, more information concerning the case will be released to the public.
