Pomona, CA – Michelle Quessenberry Injured in Pedestrian Crash on 10 Freeway

Pomona, CA (February 20, 2019) – Police have identified a woman who was struck and seriously injured in a pedestrian crash early last Thursday morning, around 12:45 a.m., as 34-year-old Michelle Quessenberry.

At the time of the accident, police say that Quessenberry had been trying to help motorists who were involved in an accident. Quessenberry is a Navy veteran who works now as an emergency room nurse.

A vehicle had been traveling on the 10 Freeway, near Kellogg Drive, just outside the city’s limits, when, for reasons that are not yet known, it spun out in front of Quessenberry’s and struck the center median. She decided to stop and help the motorists and called 911 while doing so. When she hopped over the center divider to meet with the motorists, another vehicle approached and struck the car that had been previously struck, causing Quessenberry to become smashed between the two.

The driver of the second vehicle was able to pull her from underneath, where paramedics discovered that she had suffered a wide array of serious injuries including pelvic fractures, broken ribs, a broken collar bone, and a fractured arm. She was transported to the hospital for immediate treatment.

At this time, police continue to investigate the incident.
