Pomona, CA – Pedestrian Struck and Killed by Union Pacific Train on tracks near Humane Way

Pomona, CA (August 8, 2018) – The Pomona Police Department reported a collision that tragically took the life of a pedestrian when the victim was struck by a freight train in the vicinity of Humane Way early on Wednesday morning. The devastating incident was reported to have occurred at approximately 3:40 a.m.

According to the report that was filed by police, the deadly mishap took place on the train tracks, just a little west of Humane Way. The pedestrian was confirmed to be a man, but his identity has not been determined at this time.

Emergency personnel was promptly dispatched to the scene of the accident to attend to the victim. Unfortunately, the impact of the collision proved to be too much as the man was sadly pronounced dead at the scene. Exactly how the man ended up on the tracks remains unclear.

No further information was released in regards to the events that led to this tragic accident. The Pomona Police Department is currently in charge of the investigation.
