Porter Ranch, CA – Man Injured in Car Accident on Tampa Avenue and Chatsworth Street

Porter Ranch, CA – (November 26, 2018) – A man was hospitalized after a traffic accident Monday morning in Porter Ranch. The accident took place around 7:43 am on 10800 blocks of North Tampa Avenue at Chatsworth Street. Details identifying the people involved in the accident were not immediately disclosed by authorities.

According to the Los Angeles Fire Department, two vehicles were involved in this incident.  One vehicle that was transporting chemicals and another unidentified vehicle that was traveling in the area of North Tampa Avenue at Chatsworth Street collided in a traffic accident. The force of the impact resulted in pool cleaning chemicals off-gassing including about 15 gallons of chlorine and 4 gallons of muriatic acid. Police and firefighters rushed to the scene and rendered aid to a 50-year-old man.  They transported the victim to a local area hospital for treatment. The Los Angeles HazMat crew was on the scene to neutralize the chemicals that were spilled.

The crash is under an active investigation.
