Porterville, CA – DUI Driver Plows BMW Into Geronimo Gonzalez, Severing His Legs

Porterville, CA (April 13, 2019) – On Friday, April 12, a suspected DUI Driver, 22-year-old Mohamed Mohamed, was found hiding in his home, a block away from a crash where he ran through a stop sign, barreled down a private dirt path in Porterville and struck a pedestrian. Video surveillance captured this incident.

The BMW first struck a parked truck and then 34-year-old Geronimo Gonzalez, who was next to it. The impact severed both of his legs and sending him soaring into the air. The driver also hit a propane tank but fortunately, it did not explode from the impact.

Alcohol appears to have been a factor in the crash.

Mohamed suffered minor injuries, and Gonzalez was airlifted to Fresno, where he is listed as in critical condition.
