Truck Accidents Injuries
Commercial vehicles are designed to transport thousands of pounds of cargo, and their sheer size and weight makes them a unique risk and potential danger on the road. When a large truck or big rig collides with a smaller passenger car, the forces exerted can be enormous. Physical injuries that result from truck accidents tend to be quite severe and frequently include catastrophic injuries such as severe burns, neck and back injuries, spinal cord injuries, head injuries and brain injuries. It is not uncommon for these severe injuries to result in lifelong afflictions including severe brain damage and paralysis.
If the truck was transporting dangerous or flammable materials, the risk that other motorists, pedestrians or emergency personnel will suffer from chemical exposure, respiratory problems or severe burns increases exponentially. Sadly, the statistics show that many people also lose their lives in traffic accidents involving large trucks. If a person dies in truck accident, his or her family members may be able to bring a wrongful death action against the responsible parties.
