Quincy, CA – Child on Bicycle Injured in Accident with Vehicle on Main Street
Quincy, CA (August 10, 2018) – The California Highway Patrol provided a report about a child on a bicycle who was struck by a vehicle Friday morning on Main Street in Quincy. The collision that transpired at the intersection of Main Street with Crescent Street and Court Street was reported to have taken place at approximately 10:50 a.m.
The child who was reported to possibly be a teen was in a crosswalk, according to the report released by the CHP. Statements pertaining to the accident said that a person who was driving a white Subaru Outback struck the juvenile bicyclist from behind. The front of the Subaru was reported to have struck the back wheel of the bicycle.
The driver of the Subaru stopped their vehicle and continued to call for an ambulance immediately following the accident. Emergency crews arrived promptly to render aid to the victim who was reported to have sustained injuries that were classified as minor. The child required medical attention and a relatively small knee injury was confirmed, however, it was stated as to whether or not there were any other injuries.
No further information was provided in the report concerning the events that caused the driver to strike the victim. Neither of the parties involved was identified at the time, and the investigation into the incident is ongoing.
