Rancho Mirage, CA – Bicyclist Killed at the Intersection of Ramon Road and Rattler Road

Rancho Mirage, CA-  (December 13, 2018)- A deadly traffic accident involving a bicyclist was reported early this morning at the intersection of Ramon and Rattler roads. Authorities responded to the collision at approximately 6:49 am.

According to local police, the driver of a Honda Accord was speeding through an intersection when suddenly and violently the driver struck a bicyclist in the roadway. The victim who has not been identified was thrown into the air before hitting the ground tragically suffering immediate fatal injuries in the process. Emergency crews rushed to the crash site and arrested the driver of the Honda who may have been street racing at the time of the crash. Following the accident, several lanes of both Ramon and Rattler roads were temporarily closed while police conducted an on-scene investigation. A third driver who may have been involved pulled into a nearby gas station and waited for authorities to arrive. This story will be updated pending the disclosure of the victim’s name.
