Redlands, CA – Tate Meintjes Killed in Fatal Bicycle Accident on Sand Canyon Road

Redlands, CA (March 13, 2019) – On the morning of March 11^th, a fatal bicycle accident happened on Sand Canyon Road at 10:52 a.m.

According to the reports, a 19-year-old named Tate Meintjes was training for the Redlands Bicycle Classic race with a group of cyclists when they decided to check out a section of the route. Unfortunately, a Honda Accord was headed in the same direction as the riders and made a U-turn directly in Meintjes’ path.

When the paramedics arrived at the scene, they found Meintjes suffering from major injuries and rushed him to Loma Linda University Hospital. Unfortunately, despite life-saving procedures, he succumbed to his wounds.

The police are currently investigating this accident to determine what led up to the crash and who will be held liable.
