Richmond, CA. Injured Bicyclist Following Hit-and-Run on 23rd Street
Richmond, CA. (July 8, 2018) – According to the Richmond Police Department, a man was reportedly hospitalized after being hit by a motor vehicle early Saturday morning in Richmond. The accident took place at approximately 12:40 a.m. at the intersection of Downer Avenue and 23rd Street. The driver of the vehicle that struck the victim apparently did not stop to assist the victim or cooperate with authorities but fled the scene instead.
The Richmond Police Department stated that a man who was riding his bicycle was struck by a dark, four-door Ford Crown Victoria that was heading north on 23rd Street at the time of the accident. The hit-and-run driver reportedly fled the scene and is currently being searched for by police. The victim of the accident had to be immediately transported to a local hospital to be treated for critical injuries.
