Richmond, CA- Motorcyclist Seriously Injured on the I-80 Fwy at El Portal Dr
Richmond, CA (May 24, 2019)- The California Highway Patrol reported an accident in the westbound lanes of the Interstate 80 Freeway that left a motorcyclist with serious injuries on Thursday.
The crash happened at approximately 6:17 am when a beige Honda sedan stopped at the side of the road in order to avoid a crash with a motorcycle in the No. 2 lane. After the motorcycle hit the ground, three other drivers pulled to the side of the road to offer assistance.
A SigAlert was made at approximately 6:50 am. Several lanes of the freeway were closed due to the crash.
The victim was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
An investigation into the crash is underway.
