Rio Linda, CA – Fatal Bicycle Crash Takes Life On Elkhorn Blvd & Cherry Ln

Rio Linda, CA (May 17, 2019) – Sources have reported that a bicycle crash involving a motor vehicle took the life of an elderly man. The accident took place Sunday night, May 12th. The exact time of the incident was in the early evening at 7:23 p.m.

The victim who lost their life was a 59-year-old man from Sacramento. The car involved was a blue Toyota minivan which was traveling westbound on Elkhorn Blvd. The cyclist was traveling on a crosswalk, running a pedestrian crossing signal.

The crash resulted in major injuries for the cyclist who was later pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics. The name of the victim has not yet been made public at this time.

The driver of the minivan, a 43-year-old man from Clovis, stopped and was cooperative with officials after the accident.

The investigation into the crash is still underway.
