Rio Linda, CA – Motorcycle Rider Injured in Motor Vehicle Accident at 16th Street and Elkhorn Boulevard
Rio Linda, CA (August 11, 2018) – The California Highway Patrol reported a motor vehicle accident that resulted in the hospitalization of a motorcyclist in the vicinity of 16th Street and Elkhorn Boulevard late on Saturday morning. The injurious crash was reported to have taken place at the intersection just a little before 12:00 p.m.
According to the incident log that was reported by the California Highway Patrol, the collision occurred between a black Chrysler 300 and a blue fully dressed Harley-Davidson. The reason why the two vehicles collided at the intersection of 16th Street and Elkhorn Boulevard is currently unknown.
The motorcycle rider was reported to have been ejected from the bike due to the impact of the collision. Smoke was seen to be billowing out from under the hood of the Chrysler as the motorcycle rested on the side of the road. Paramedics along with officials from the Sacramento Fire Department were immediately called to the scene to provide assistance to anyone who suffered injuries during the wreck.
The motorcyclist was reported as the only injured victim and was promptly transported to Mercy San Juan Medical Center to undergo treatment for minor injuries. The name and current condition of the victim are not known at this time, and authorities are actively conducting an investigation into the events that led to the incident.
