Riverbank, CA – Jack Higgs Identified as Bicyclist Killed in Crash on Claus Road near California Street

Riverbank, CA (April 7, 2019) – Police have identified the bicyclist that was hit and killed by an alleged drunk driver on Thursday morning in Riverbank.

Jack Douglas Higgs, 70 of Modesto was the victim of a horrific accident that happened at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, April 4. The accident took place on Claus Road near California Street.

Police stated that Jordan Pomares-Boeh, 24, of Oakdale, was traveling northbound on Claus Road when for unknown reasons he swerved to the right and fatally struck Higgs.

First responders came to the scene of the accident, but Higgs was pronounced dead at the scene.

Pomares-Boeh was arrested for suspicion of DUI causing death. The crash is still under investigation.
