Whittier, CA – Road Rage Leads to Deadly Crash on Greenleaf Avenue and Whittier Boulevard
Whittier, CA (Feb 24, 2019) – A car crash at the intersection of Greenleaf Avenue and Whittier Boulevard led to the death of an innocent father of four. According to initial reports, aggressive driving appears to have played a role in the crash. A vehicle that was being pursued by police on Monday crashed into another car at 11:00 a.m., setting that automobile on fire and killing its driver.
Police state that an officer attempted to stop a vehicle whose driver was apparently involved in a road-rage incident. The driver did not stop and there was a brief pursuit, which ended when the driver smashed into another car.
The driver of the automobile that was hit was transported to the hospital but later passed away from his extensive injuries. He was identified as 61-year-old Isaias Cruz.
The driver who allegedly caused the crash was 34-year-old Kevin Vargas, of Santa Fe Springs.
Anyone who witnessed the crash is being asked to step forward with their account.
