Hit-and-Run Accidents in California
Recent statistics show that hit-and-run fatalities have increased by 7.2 percent every year in the United States since 2009. The reason drivers proceed to drive off without stopping after striking someone is usually due to driving while under the influence or fearing the consequences of their actions. Drivers are more likely to commit such crimes during the middle of the night when they believe not many witnesses are around to spot them. Unfortunately, regardless of one’s motives behind not stopping, it’s unacceptable to leave a harmed individual at the scene of an accident.
