Sacramento, CA – Fatal Bicycle Accident at Watt Avenue and Fruitridge Avenue
Sacramento, CA – (November 28, 2018) – A vehicle struck and killed a bicyclist Wednesday morning in Sacramento. According to authorities, the accident took place just before 6 am in the area of South Watt Avenue and Fruitridge Road.
Officers confirmed a bicyclist had been riding in the area of South Watt Avenue and Fruitridge Road when he was violently struck by an oncoming vehicle. The driver of the vehicle failed to stop to render aid and fled the scene leaving the victim suffering from major injuries. Emergency personnel rushed to the crash site and rendered aid to the bicyclist attempting to stabilize him but sadly the victim succumbed to the injuries sustained in the accident and died. Police are still on the hunt for the driver and the vehicle involved.
As of now, this accident is under investigation.
