Sacramento, CA- Hit-and-Run Accident Kills One at Fruitridge Rd. and Mendocino Blvd.

Sacramento, CA (April 23, 2019)- A hit-and-run accident left one person dead near the intersection of Mendocino Boulevard and Fruitridge Road on Saturday evening.

The South Sacramento office of the California Highway Patrol reported that the crash happened at approximately 9:51 pm when an Acura SUV hit a power pole, leaving a passenger unconscious in the front passenger seat. The driver of the Acura ran from the scene before police could apprehend them.

The injured passenger did not survive their injuries despite treatment at the scene by paramedics.

While little information on this crash is available at this time, the CHP did report that the driver might have been under the influence.

An investigation is underway.
