Sacramento, CA – Man Killed in Crash on 5 Freeway Near County Road 102

SACRAMENTO, CA – (November 23, 2018) – Police are investigating a fatal traffic collision that occurred Friday afternoon on Interstate 5 near County Road 102. The collision took place around noon time between Woodland and the Sacramento International Airport on the Yolo-Sacramento county line.

Reportedly, a white sedan and blue sedan were traveling southbound on the 5 Freeway when suddenly they collided into one another. Officials have reason to believe the blue colored vehicle was slowing with traffic when it was struck from behind by a distracted driver. Fire department officials along with the paramedics responded to the scene and a passenger riding in the rear-ended sedan was suffering from severe injuries. Paramedics attempted to stabilize the victim but sadly he died of his injuries. The name of the deceased victim has not been yet released pending notification of family. Meanwhile, a total of seven other people were transported by ambulance to a local hospital for treatment of injuries ranging from minor to major. Their identities and current physical condition were not disclosed.

The incident remains under investigation.
