Motorcycle Accidents in California
Recent studies revealed that in 2016, motorcycle accidents accounted for about 15 percent of all vehicle accident fatalities in California. The reason most motorcyclists get injured or killed is due to drivers not paying attention to their surroundings. When drivers fail to check their blind spots or rearview areas, motorcycles are at risk of being seriously harmed. Most of the time drivers are too busy on their cell phones, under the influence, fatigued, and more. All it takes is a few seconds of being distracted for major damages to occur.
The police are currently investigating to determine what caused the two vehicles to collide. They’re checking for mechanical errors, which driver had the right of way, if alcohol or drugs were involved, and more. Once they complete their investigation, it’s likely that each injured victim will file a personal injury lawsuit with the help of a California personal injury attorney.
