Sacramento, CA – One Person Injured after Multi-Vehicle Accident on Westbound Highway 50 near 5 Freeway

Sacramento, CA (August 3, 2018) – The California Highway Patrol reported that one victim sustained severe injuries as the result of an accident involving multiple vehicles on the westbound lanes of Highway 50 near the 5 Freeway. The incident transpired at approximately 2:42 PM in the afternoon on Tuesday, July 31, 2018. At this time, no detailed information concerning the identities of the people involved in this accident has been revealed.

CHP officials originally reported that a minimum of four unidentified vehicles had been traveling down Highway 50 and, for indeterminate reasons, collided. Sometime later, authorities dispatched a single ground ambulance, and paramedics discovered one victim was lying along the highway. Medical personnel confirmed this individual suffered serious injuries during the impact and brought the victim to UC Davis Medical Center to receive treatment.

Later, authorities dispatched towing services to clear wreckage and debris from the highway.
