Sacramento, CA – Several Injuries Reported Following Crash Involving Big Rig on Highway 51 South

Sacramento, CA (July 24, 2018) – A large collision that involved a tractor-trailer and resulted in several injured victims was reported to have occurred Monday night in the southbound lanes of Highway 51, according to the California Highway Patrol. The injurious accident that involved up to possibly four vehicles took place at approximately 10:01 p.m. on the highway near the N Street on-ramp.

The report filed by the CHP stated that the vehicles involved were a silver sedan, a black sedan, a tractor-trailer, and the possibility of a fourth vehicle as well. According to authorities, one driver reportedly overturned their vehicle after the driver of the black sedan allegedly caused the accident by reckless operation. The initial crash subsequently clogged up the highway. A tractor-trailer and another, undisclosed vehicle, are believed to have been involved as well, although they were both able to pull their vehicles over following the wreck.

The driver of the vehicle that overturned received treatment at the scene of the crash before being transported to a local hospital. Other injuries are believed to have occurred but were unspecified in the report. At least one person was confirmed to have sustained moderate injuries, although no names or conditions of anyone involved has been made clear. There were no more details available pertaining to this accident, and the authorities are currently conducting a full investigation.
