Sacramento, CA- Trucks Crash Head-On on Winters St. Near North Ave.
Sacramento, CA (April 19, 2019)- The Sacramento Police Department reported a head-on crash on Thursday on Winters Street at approximately 3:45 pm near North Avenue. The crash involved a pickup truck and a Sacramento Regional Transit work truck, as well as a third vehicle.
The reports stated that a pickup hit the Sacramento Regional Transit truck head-on. A third vehicle was also damaged in the crash, but details about the third vehicle were not reported.
The Sacramento Fire Department responded to the scene and extricated one victim from a damaged vehicle. Two people were taken to the hospital for treatment, where one person was subsequently admitted with critical injuries. The identities and current status of the victims are not known.
The roadway was closed following the accident for the fire department’s hazmat team to clear liquids spilled due to the crash.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
