San Bernardino, CA (March 13, 2019) On the morning of March 13th, a serious truck collision happened on the 210 Freeway at Waterman Avenue. According to the reports, a 24-year-old woman named Jessica Machua-Ramirez was driving a white GMC pickup truck with her three children when her truck collided into a semi-tractor trailer truck at approximately 7:53 a.m.
When the paramedics arrived, they discovered that the impact of the crash caused one of the children, 6-year-old Jordan Dixon, to eject out of the pickup truck. They also found two of the other children, 2-year-old Gia Dixon and 4-year-old Geordina Dixon, injured as well. Machua-Ramirez also suffered from unspecified injuries. Emergency crews transported all four injured victims to a nearby hospital for evaluation and treatment.
As authorities investigated, the unidentified truck driver told them that he was in the right lane when Machua-Ramirez’s truck collided with his. However, the crash is currently under investigation as the police determine what led up to the accident and who will be held liable.
We are very sorry to hear that Machua-Ramirez and her three children were harmed in this accident. We wish them all a full and fast recovery.
Truck Accidents in California
The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration has identified several specific categories of critical conditions that are responsible for truck accidents in the United States. These categories are the driver, the truck, and the environment. A truck driver could be responsible for causing an accident due to fatigue, a medical condition, or drugs and alcohol. The truck itself could cause an accident if there are faulty breaks or other mechanical issues. The environment could be a contributing factor if there are hazardous road conditions or dangerous weather conditions. There are some circumstances where all three categories are contributing factors, which is why those who have been harmed in truck accidents should hire a California personal injury lawyer to help them file a personal injury lawsuit.
