Semi-Truck Accidents in California
Being in a car accident is stressful enough, but being hit by a semi-truck? It makes the situation a thousand times more dangerous and overwhelming.
Who is accountable for your injuries and damages? Is it the individual truck driver or the company who hired him in the first place?
Many semi-truck drivers work as independent contractors and own their own trucks. If this is the case in your crash, you may be able to seek damages from your truck accident from the individual driver. However, if the driver is an employee of a trucking company, you should file a civil suit against the trucking company. If someone else owns the truck and the driver is merely behind the wheel, you have the option of pursuing legal options against the owner of the truck. Make sure to talk to a skilled California truck accident attorney who knows the ins and outs of federal and state trucking laws and regulations.
