San Diego, CA. 1 Pedestrian Injured in Accident on Van Dyke

San Diego, CA. (July 6, 2018) – The San Diego Police Department reported that a pedestrian was seriously injured following a motor vehicle accident in the 4000 block of Van Dyke Friday morning. The accident took place at approximately 11:28 a.m. in the Teralta West neighborhood of San Diego.

Reports stated that a pedestrian who was apparently a 27-year-old man was running across Van Dyke at the time of the accident. Apparently, while the man was running, he was struck by a passing vehicle mid-block. The vehicle involved was reportedly a Toyota Prius, and the driver remained at the scene in order to cooperate with authorities.

The paramedics arrived on the scene quickly after the accident and provided assistance to the victim. The young man was then taken to a local hospital with a fractured femur. The woman, 30, who was driving the Prius was apparently unharmed in the incident. Investigators are currently looking into all the details surrounding this accident in order to determine fault.
