San Diego, CA. 3 People Injured in Hit-and-Run on G and 14th Streets
San Diego, CA. (July 6, 2018) – Three people were reportedly injured following a hit-and-run Thursday night. A local news source reported the accident that involved a red pickup truck with a camper shell and a mortuary van. The collision took place at approximately 11:00 p.m. when the two vehicles collided with one another on Massachusetts Avenue in Lemon Grove.
The driver of the red pickup apparently fled the scene but was followed by the mortuary van that was struck in the crash. The driver of the van followed the hit-and-run driver from Lemon Grove into downtown San Diego. The van driver called 911 while pursuing the pickup truck. Once downtown, the truck reportedly ran a red light at the intersection of G and 14th Streets. The driver of the pickup continued on to crash into other vehicles at the intersection, as well as a light pole.
The other vehicles that were involved were a blue sedan and a gray pickup truck, as well as a white Mercedes Benz that was hit by the light pole which fell after the suspect struck it. Although it is unknown which driver caused the initial collision, police are likely investigating the suspect who ran the red light and caused further injuries.
Our most heartfelt sympathies go out to anyone who was injured during this unfortunate accident.
