San Diego, CA – Authorities Identify Woman Killed during Violent Multi-Vehicle Accident along 94 Freeway near 25th Street

San Diego, CA (August 29, 2018) – Recently, a local news source provided updated information concerning the woman who died as the result of a violent multi-vehicle accident that took place along the 94 Freeway, in the vicinity of 25th Street. The deadly collision happened at approximately 10:30 AM on Saturday, August 25, 2018. As of today, authorities have identified the deceased victim as 53-year old San Diego resident Grace Tapit Villar.

Based on the original report from the California Highway Patrol, a San Diego Human Society truck had been parked near the highway’s center divider, while two officers attempted to catch a dog. At the same time, Villar had been driving a Toyota Camry along 94. At some point, the dog darted across opposing lanes of traffic, and Villar hit the vehicle’s brakes to avoid a collision.

Meanwhile, the driver of a Dodge RAM pickup truck, which had been traveling behind the Camry, veered across the center of the lane to prevent a collision with the first vehicle. In a chain reaction, an oncoming GMC Yukon towing a trailer slammed into the rear of the Dodge, which slid into the Camry as a result. The force of the impact ultimately sent the Camry careening into the back of the Humane Society vehicle.

Officials confirmed the Villar and two other occupants of the Camry were transported to Scripps Mercy Hospital, where Villar later died from severe injuries. The current physical conditions of the other two victims were not immediately disclosed.

Authorities did not reveal if the Human Society officers or the occupants of the Dodge and the Yukon sustained injuries during the impact.
