San Diego, CA – Driver Traveling Wrong Way on I-805 Collides with SUV in Fiery Wreck
San Diego, CA (March 16, 2019) – A car crash involving two vehicles occurred on March 16th just before 3 a.m. that sent the two drivers to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.
The crash occurred when a driver traveling the wrong way on Interstate 805 smashed into another vehicle Saturday, sending both drivers to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.
The Mitsubishi Lancer was heading the wrong way on southbound I-805 near the I-8 connector and when it collided with a Toyota SUV the accident sparked a fire, which then engulfed both automobiles.
Both drivers were taken to a nearby hospital for major injuries. As well, another vehicle garnered minor damages in the accident. That driver had minor injuries from the wreck.
California Highway Patrol responded to the scene of this accident and it’s known if alcohol or drugs were a factor.
Roadways were closed pending investigations, but are now reopened.
