San Diego, CA – Motorcyclist Injured after Collision with Car on Washington Street near Cleveland Street in University Heights

San Diego, CA (August 14, 2018) – The San Diego Police Department reported that a motorcyclist sustained injuries as the result of a collision a car that took place on the 1500 block of Washington Street near Cleveland Street, in the area of University Heights. The accident transpired a little after 10:45 PM at night. At this time, no detailed information about the motorcyclist, the motorist, or any more people involved in the crash has been revealed.

Based on police reports, an unidentified 23-year old man had been riding a motorcycle east down Washington when, at some point, he sped through a red light at the junction with Cleveland Street. After crossing the intersection, he collided with a westbound Hyundai Elantra turning left onto Washington.

Sometime later, officials reported the motorcyclist was severely injured. Later, the rider was brought to a nearby hospital to receive treatment.

Officers did not specify anyone else was injured.
