San Diego, CA – One Killed and Two Injured in Fatal Crash on 94 Freeway
San Diego, CA (August 26, 2018) – A deadly car wreck that also resulted in injuries and included a dog was reported to have taken place on the 94 Freeway near 25th Street Saturday afternoon, according to a reliable news source in San Diego. The accident which occurred on the freeway was reported to have transpired at approximately 10:30 a.m. just a little east of 25th Street.
According to reports that were released by the California Highway Patrol, the accident occurred after a San Diego Humane Society truck had been parked in the center divider of the road. Two officers were attempting to get ahold of a dog that was on the center median at the time. Unfortunately, the dog proceeded to run into traffic.
After seeing the dog dart into the lanes of the freeway, the operator of a Toyota Camry slammed on their brake in the fast lane. The driver of a Dodge Ram pickup who was traveling behind the Camry then swerved into the center divider to avoid making contact with the other vehicle. A GMC Yukon that was hauling a trailer became involved when its driver was unable to stop and subsequently crashed into the back of the Dodge pickup.
The impact of the collision forced the Yukon to strike the Camry which caused the Camry to hit the Humane Society truck. According to the California Highway Patrol, a 53-year-old woman who was in the Camry at the time of the crash was sadly pronounced dead at a local hospital. Two other individuals who were also in the Camry had to be hospitalized for unspecified injuries. No names have been released at this time, and the incident remains under investigation.
