San Diego, CA – One Seriously Injured in Scooter Accident on Grand Avenue

San Diego, CA (February 1, 2019) – 27-year-old Houston Teamer was severely injured in a scooter accident that took place in Grand Avenue on January 20, according to police.

Police say that Teamer, a Marine veteran, was riding his scooter east on the roadway when he was suddenly struck by a silver vehicle for reasons that are not yet known. The impact was so forceful that Teamer was thrown from his bike, causing him to land face-first on the pavement. He was knocked unconscious when he was thrown onto the ground.

The victim was immediately transported to the hospital with a concussion, broken bones in his eyes, nose, and cheekbones. He also broke his jaw in various sections. Permanent metal plates were put in his face through surgery.

The driver who struck Teamer allegedly did not stop at the scene of the accident and fled. Police are still searching for the driver at this time and their investigation into the matter continues.
